Synopsis
A wealthy lawyer engaged to a beautiful but bland socialite finds himself in turmoil over his fiancee's seductive older cousin, a woman ostracised by polite society. He aims to use his standing to restore her damaged reputation, but struggles to come to terms with the strength of his feelings towards her. Martin Scorsese's romantic period drama, based on Edith Wharton's novel, starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Winona Ryder, Michelle Pfeiffer and Richard E Grant.
