Synopsis

Megs (Robert De Niro) is a traumatized and volatile Vietnam veteran trying to deal with his postwar anxiety, while his Army buddy Dave (Ed Harris) drowns nightmares in a bottle of booze. When Dave's sister Martha (Kathy Baker) invites Megs to stay with them, emotions escalate. Violence threatens to erupt between the two suffering vets, who are inexorably tied to each other, albeit with much ambivalence and sharing only common terrors.
