Synopsis

There's a whole lotta shakin' goin' on in The Big Easy director Jim McBride's bright rock 'n' roll biography of Jerry Lee Lewis, here played with style and flash by the always watchable Dennis Quaid. Based on the book by Myra Lewis and Murray Silver, it's an entertaining romp that follows Jerry Lee's life in the 1950s up to his fall from grace in London after he married his 13-year-old cousin Myra (sweetly played by Winona Ryder). It's Quaid's on-the-edge performance and the music that makes this so much fun, plus the able support from Ryder, Alec Baldwin (as the evangelist Jimmy Swaggart) and Trey Wilson.
